In this ongoing course, a small group will meet 2 days a week to develop a wide variety of math skills and number sense. Students will be exposed to math vocabulary and symbols. Each class will include visuals, interactive handouts, short video clips, and an optional enrichment activity after class to reinforce the weekly skill.  I will spiral in various concepts so we are practicing a wide variety of skills each time we meet! The class will be ongoing with the understanding that students can unenroll at any time.  We will work on “The Number of the Day” handout on the first time we meet each week and “Addition and/or Subtraction on the second time we meet each week. 

A pdf printable "Math Toolbox" will be provided that will include a ten frame, hundreds chart, number line, base ten rods and units. If you have cardstock (a thicker printer paper) they will last a little longer but regular printer paper will work also! This is something learners will bring to class each time and through practice become comfortable using each tool.

                                                                                               SCHEDULE:
* Hello/Math Warm-up (3-5 minutes)- We will skip count by 5's and 10's and answer an ice breaker question at the beginning of every class
 *Number of the Day Handout- This handout will cover place value, before and after, hundreds chart identification and so much more.  
-OR- 
*Hands On Addition/Subtraction Practice using 10 frame, number line and manipulatives (please bring 10-20 cubes, pennies, legos, etc. to class) (25 minutes)
*Movement Break (3 minutes) *This will happen halfway through class
*Closing/Explain Extra Practice Handout (2 minutes)

 Students will need paper/pencil or a white board and we will practice writing number sentences as we work on addition and subtraction, ordering numbers, writing math symbols etc... I strongly suggest the whiteboard as I am able to see through the camera SO much better allowing me to make gentle corrections if needed.


Skills that will be taught:
-skip counting by 2,5,10
- writing numbers (what comes before and after)
- addition and subtraction -different ways within 20- fingers, counters, number line, tally marks, 10 frame 
- place value ones and tens
-using a hundreds chart
-number bonds-making 10
-missing number
