Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am Ms. Ashby and I teach kindergarten reading and writing skills here on outschool as well as in a brick and mortar classroom during the school year.
I have a very diverse teaching background. Since graduating with my Bachelors in Elementary Educationand minor in reading education I have taught 2nd grade, pre-school, 4th grade, and Kindergarten as the primary teacher. I have also had long term substitute positions in 1st and 2nd grade. I have a passion for hands on learning and whole brain teaching. My goal as a teacher is to help students reach their goals, personal and academic, by fostering a love of learning and giving them a space to be curious and learn through experiences.
A little something about me: my list of hobbies is ever growing as I love learning new things and consider myself to be crafty. I am currently into wood working and embroidery. I live at the beach with my Dogs Marlin and Mabel and in our free time in the spring and summer months we enjoy going out on the water fishing or enjoying the company of others.
