Class Experience
Welcome to this insightful and exciting class about the fundamentals for interview preparation. In life, we are bound to go have an interview for some quest. Whether it is for admission to an art school, university, internship e.t.c., we are all likely to face the challenge of going through an interview process and communicating our competencies. Therefore, the class will include, but not be limited to the following- Common competency based interview questions. Situational based case studies. Soft & Hard Skills. Brainstorming and matching required skills to core competencies. Types of interview formats i.e.face to face, video interviews, panel-based interviews e.t.c. Verbal and non-verbal aspects to consider for bespoke interview formats. Using the STAR interview method to effectively answer questions. Asking appropriate and meaningful questions of the interviewee. The class will be very fluid and interactive. I will teach the technical concepts and theories based on the things above. Then we will jointly look to explore different situational case studies, do some role playing/dialogue. I will be offering constructive feedback at the end of the role play. This will be a very fun, engaging and enlightening experience and will offer the student great confidence and equip them with competencies. No prior knowledge is required. Due to discussions about the importance of non-verbal communication and verbal interactions in the conversational classes, it is imperative to have your camera on. Please subscribe only if you are able and comfortable to interact with your camera on. Outschool policy doesn't require cameras to be on past the verification stage. However, as per this particular conversational class format, it is required to have your camera on for the full duration of class. Moreover, as this is an ongoing class, I will aim to keep it rolling each week. However, please keep in mind that due to family obligations, the Covid-19 crisis etc, unfortunately, this may not always be possible and I may need to cancel sections. If a section is to be cancelled I will aim to do it in advance, preferably before the beginning of the respective week the class is scheduled to take place. Please note: •As there is significant preparation made before each session, there will be no refunds for unattended classes. Special consideration will be made in some circumstances if communicated before the session begins. •Feel free to utilise the classroom recording, if you miss a session. If there is a single student booked in for the class, unfortunately, there will be no content to review. Thanks and looking forward to meeting you
Learning Goals
Students will get a sense of confidence and technical competence. Through the engaging role playing and dialogue they will become accustomed with the 'STAR' technique and how to effectively execute it for powerful delivery.
