Throughout the class, I ask students to hold up whiteboards or paper. I also ask them to submit in the chatbox or annotate the screen. Please review how to annotate on Zoom before class.Class Experience
US Grade 6
Want your child to feel confident about math? In this course, we will focus on new review topics each class. The year will begin with fifth-grade material, then will switch to sixth-grade material. Each class, I will review the content, then students will do practice with me. After I see that students are comfortable, I will ask students to do the material independently. I do this process multiple times throughout the class. By doing this process, I make sure students have a basic understanding of the topic that they will build upon throughout the class. This helps build student confidence. Your child may not have gone over a topic in their class. This class is designed to be either a review or pre-teaching. If your child has not learned this topic in their class, they will get to experience the material in this class and feel more comfortable with their school class. I will ask students either to annotate on Zoom or hold up a whiteboard/paper. In addition, I will also use the chatbox. How do I provide support for students? In addition to scaffolding the material, the amount of time we spend on a topic is decided by the students. Throughout the lesson, I will ask students how they feel about a concept before we move on. I also encourage students to use the chatbox. The chatbox allows students to anonymously ask a question or ask me to repeat something. Feel free to reach out about your child. How do I determine what material to teach students? I look at grade level standards across the country, which tell teachers what students are supposed to know. I also look at districts throughout the nation's timelines of when they are teaching specific material. This class has already started. Will my student be behind? Your child can join at any time. What are your qualifications? I am a certified PK-6 general education teacher and special education teacher. I have taught over 5,000 online classes to students.
