Learners will complete the Primary 1A (2022 Edition) book in this self-paced semester-long course. This course has lessons and assignments posted for each lesson in the book. There are no live meetings in a self-paced class, however, I do have 1-on-1 live homework classes if needed. I do have permission from Singapore Math to teach this curriculum online. However, no teachers may show the books during class as Outschool records the meetings. *Learners must have the required books to take this course. The materials are listed in the "Supply List" section. *The Test Book is required to receive a letter grade. Once a week, a post will be published in the classroom, which will include the week's teaching videos, lessons, and assignments. Learners may participate by replying to posts from the teacher. It is optional to submit homework - Learners are not required to submit homework. Curriculum Work: Learners are expected to complete the assigned questions from the textbook and workbook assignments each week. The teacher does not grade full homework assignments, however, learners may post their work to show completion of the assignment. If a learner has a few questions, they can message the teacher. Please be sure to include your work and answer. Answers to homework are in the “Home Instructor’s Guide” which is available on the Singapore Math website. Please let your learner know before class begins if they are allowed to write directly in the textbook or not. Some people prefer to reuse the textbook. If learners will not be writing in the textbook, please ensure they are prepared with paper for class. Optional Work: Learners may complete the activities each day that go with the completed book lesson completed. Additional Practice, and Mastery and Beyond are two extra books from Singapore Math. Optional work will be assigned from these three workbooks to supplement the lesson material. These books are optional and are not required. ixl.com: One or more lessons will be posted. These are optional activities and learners are not required to complete these lessons. The teacher will provide the subscription log-in information upon request. Online Activity: Learners will be provided with online activities to complete for each lesson. For example, SplashLearn, MathPlayground, or other fun games will be suggested. Learners will take a photo of the activity and post it in the lesson thread as a comment. Real-Life Activity: Some lessons may have discussion questions pertaining to real life. If the learner knows how to associate the lesson material with a real-life topic (such as at a job, or shopping, etc), the learner should discuss this in the lesson post. Message the teacher with homework questions as needed. The learner can send photos of the work or message the page and problem numbers.
