Beginner - Advanced Level
Welcome to Grade 3 Math Challenge. This course is 20 weeks in total, including 17 independent lessons and 3 review lessons。 In this course, each Chapter focuses on a challenging, age-appropriate topic and demonstrates several clever problem-solving methods. Topics include: Basic Concept: new ways to understand counting, telling time, odd and even numbers, place value, fractions, averaging, and prime numbers. Operations: tricks for solving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems. Strategies: creative and effective problem-solving approaches, including making lists and visual models, making assumptions, comparing and replacing, and working backward. Classic Problems: techniques for solving problems that have interested mathematicians through the ages, including intervals, numbers in a series of speed problems, age problems, and excess-and-shortage problems. Logic and IQ: brain-teasing patterns, puzzles, and logic problems to strengthen mathematical thinking. Applied and Advanced Topics: introductions to squares and cubes, perimeter, area, angles and triangles, percentages, and writing simple algebraic equations. The Course Materials will be distributed to students at the beginning of each class. The examples will be explained first, and Students are expected to complete the work following the teacher's instruction. Class interaction will be minimal since the students are expected to solve the problems independently before seeking answers.
