Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a music teacher since 2012 when I graduated from Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and received my K-12 teaching license in Connecticut. Since 2012 I have spent time teaching PreK-8th grade general music and chorus, including music literacy, music history, movement, and ukulele. After completing my second degree, a Master’s in Music Education from Boston University, I decided to start my own private music teaching studio in Santa Monica, CA. Teaching in-person and online students in small groups I have found I can really focus on the individual learners!
With regards to this particular class, my emphasis in school was voice and elementary music. I have certifications in Kodaly and Conversational Solfege teaching techniques. I continue to perform and I am a member of a competitive chorus that is #1 in our region and headed to international competition.
