Description
Class Experience
Learning goals for this class include the following: Students will learn the music vocabulary words "composer," "melody," and "lyrics." Students will practice keeping a steady beat. Students will learn to sing a new song. Students will work together to come up with new, silly lyrics.
I have spent the past 7 years as an elementary music teacher. I hold a Bachelor's of Music Education degree from Bowling Green State University with a specialization in classroom music, and am currently certified to teach music to students in grades PK-12. My experience in teaching has helped me to design classes that get students excited about music. I have a passion for helping learners understand music by exploring fun new ways to experience it!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will informally assess each student's ability to sing and keep a steady beat by watching and listening as we sing together.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
