Sight Word Turkeys
In this one-time class, we will learn 4 new sight words while making a turkey craft and reading a Thanksgiving themed book using these new words.

In this one-time class, we will begin our session by learning the words: can, you, see, the. We will practice our new words by writing each word on a feather provided. After our new words are written on our feathers, we will practice reading our new words in our Thanksgiving themed booklet. This booklet is completely optional, but will be sent to each student before each class. =) *Students will take turns while reading our new sentences. =) After we read our booklets, students will have the chance to cut out their sight word feathers and glue them on their turkey. =) No sight word knowledge is needed before this class and students who do know these words (can, you, see, the), may take this class for extra practice! =) Students wil be kept muted throughout our session, but will be given numerous chances throughout our session to read our new sight words! =) Please don’t hesitate if you have any questions! =)

Hi! My name is Nicole Marder. =) I grew up with a passion for teaching. My mom was a Kindergarten teacher for thirty three years and I followed in her footsteps and became a Kindergarten teacher as well! I subbed for grades K-12 for three years while in college and taught for four years before I had my son. I took an extended maternity leave, but I have continued my educational journey and tutored students from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.
While subbing, teaching in a public school, and tutoring; I found whole body movement, singing, using silly phrases, and drawing were essential to each student's success. There is no identical learner and it is so important to meet each student's learning needs to optimize learning!!
I love having fun and being silly while teaching! Students need to have a class setting where it is fun and where they don't have to worry about getting an answer wrong! I tell my son on a daily basis that mistakes are vital to learning!
