It’s a Lovey Listen! What this means is that we will each take turns telling about our “Lovey”, our favorite stuffed animal. Students will be expected to take turns. They will be respectful to other classmates as each child shares. We will collectively make a list of adjectives to accompany each “Lovey”. After a child has shared, I will allow a short time for questions. Many times, children want to know more than what has been shared. They might ask some of the following questions: Where did you get it? What is its name? Do you sleep with it? I believe in an energetic approach to teaching. I like a sweet marriage of noise and structure in my classroom. So, it might get a little loud as sharing fun things with new friends is exciting. My goal for each student is to practice their speaking and listening skills and also have a useful list of adjectives to help them describe everyday objects. I hope to see you in my classroom soon!
Learning Goals
The students will learn to share a beloved item from home while improving their communication and listening skills. They will broaden their vocabulary by learning new adjectives to describe objects.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Teacher Kender! I obtain the following: BA in theatre, early childhood certification, elementary certification grades 1-6, and a master's degree in elementary reading. The most fun I have while teaching is when I can combine the two. I love digging into books and exploring the characters. I always read with crazy expression and sound effects. My read alouds are exciting and fun! I can teach your child to read, and I can teach them how to perform well in an audition. My available classes list will vary because of my love of the theatre and my passion for lower elementary. I was a classroom teacher for six years. All six of those years were spent teaching first grade. I taught ESL online for 5 years, and I have been teaching a variety of classes on Outschool since the summer of 2020. It is my philosophy that more is caught than taught. So, being a good example for your children is key. Surrounding them with others who instill respect, knowledge, and common sense is vital. Finding a teacher who can bring information to them in an exciting and fun way so that it sticks for a lifetime... that is priceless. Let's do this! See you in the classroom.
***NOTE: I will always teach. If the class has one student, I will still teach!***
