Students who love to write will have an opportunity to share their work, improve their public speaking skills, and participate in some fun and uplifting peer interaction. Students who have written stories or poetry will read them aloud during class. Students are encouraged to listen to each other and show support by asking questions and sharing what they liked about what they heard. Students should bring at least one original work they have written before class. If there is time, students may be able to read more than one piece. If time permits, we will also play some short writing games. Students may need pencil and paper for some of the games.

Parental Guidance
Parents, please make sure the work students bring to present in class is appropriate for this age group. There should be no swearing or other inappropriate language.
Supply List
Students should bring at least one original written work that they have completed before class time. This may be a story or a poem. They may bring more than one piece in case we have time to hear more. Students may also need pencil and paper for writing games.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Liz and I love to teach! I got my first taste of the joy of teaching when I started tutoring fellow students in college.
My bachelor's degree is in music. I have been teaching and tutoring various subjects and ages for eight years. My experience as an online ESL teacher has helped me develop various teaching strategies specific to the online classroom. I also homeschool my own three children.
Through teaching I have learned that each child is different and learns in different ways. I like to make classes fun and engaging for the students. I love seeing that "ah-ha!" moment when something clicks for them. I want all of my students to feel safe and loved.
On Outschool, I teach music, story time, reading, phonics, creative writing, word building, book clubs, and public speaking through a variety of topics.
