Class Experience

In this ongoing beginner sewing class, sewing basics, sewing proficiency, and techniques will be presented through short presentations as well as completing small, simple sewing projects.

Please, have your learner already operating their sewing machine proficiently before enrolling in this ongoing class.

I’ve created a flexible schedule (video only) course that covers sewing machine set up and operation thoroughly called “Sew Wut!? Beginner Sewing Machine Set Up and Operation”.

Some of this information in this ongoing course, I’ve already covered in my “Sew Wut!? Creative Machine Sewing for the Absolute Beginner”, so you may have your learner opt out of those weeks if you like or just have them enjoy doing the project again.

The sewing projects are all optional but I will cover how to make them in class so if learners would like to do them on their own between classes, they certainly can. If they want to work on their own sewing project they are welcome to do that as well and receive my coaching/tutoring.

There will be an inexpensive supply list given for each small project.
***********************************************************************************************************************************************
Parents, please understand that teachers keep less than 50% of the list price.

The Outschool fee is -30% for all income teachers make for each class on this platform. Then I have to pay my self-employment taxes, electricity, high speed internet, software subscriptions, and the time to build the courses etc. I also need to be paid for the time I spend answering messages and my energy and time to teach live classes.

Effective June 2023 I’m setting all of my pricing to reflect a one to one class (no more group rate pricing) so that no one has to wait on other learners to enroll before I teach the class.

Extra learners can be added and that income will help fund me so I can make more great courses. Thank you for your support! *********************************************************************************************************************************************

I started sewing at age 12 and remember the frustrations I had. I built this course to help young beginners navigate through the first steps of learning to sew but in a fun and creative way.

In high school I took a beginner sewing course for a semester but the teacher realized that I was not a beginner, took me aside the whole semester and tutored me personally to fill in the gaps of my self learning.

I've been sewing and have sewed everything from my own clothes, to all of my bridesmaids dresses, to upholstering furniture and making custom costumes.
