This weekly class will give students the opportunity to continue to use beginning sewing skills to make small projects each week, learn a bit of trivia, practice essential sewing techniques & share sewing accomplishments via "Sew & Tell".
Class experience
This ongoing class is designed for teen students who have completed Beginner I and II, Beginner Sewing Machine Sewing, Teen Sewing or who are confident with sewing on a machine on their own. Each week, our sewing enthusiasts will explore and practice a sewing skill. In addition, in the Sew Fun Sewing Studio - Stitch Corner students will use these skills to create fun projects to use, wear, and give as gifts. Mrs. P is a certified teacher and school administrator with over 50 years of sewing experience. She has taught the craft of sewing in afterschool enrichment programs and summer camps.
1 file available upon enrollmentA detailed supply list will be available to all enrolled students before their first meeting. Weekly supplies will be available 1-week prior to meetings. Some of the supplies needed: A basic sewing machine in good working order Basic sewing notions - needles, thread, fabric (small remnants and a collection of fat quarters is very useful for the projects), pins, fabric scissors, fabric markers/chalk, tape measure, ruler The cost of commercial patterns if the student chooses to use them
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be needed to help with rethreading sewing machines or help with pressing.
