Class Experience

In this one time class, students will practice their math skills by working on counting, number recognition, and comparing quantities. The class will begin with the students watching a short Sesame Street counting video clip.  The teacher will then read the Sesame Street book "Counting all Around" which will give the learners many opportunities to practice counting.  The teacher will then lead the students through an interactive slide presentation in which they will practice counting Sesame Street items.  They will also complete some practice identifying "more" and "less" by looking at two sets of objects. The class will end with a Sesame Street counting song.

Learning Goals

Students will learn to count from 1-10.
Students will learn to identify numbers 0-10
Students will learn to identify how many objects there are in given set. 
Students will learn to compare quantities (identify which is more and which is less)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

My name is Danielle and I am a NY state certified early childhood and elementary school teacher, for both general education and special education students.    I have been a full time classroom teacher for 10 years and have been tutoring students from preschool to college for over 15 years.   My bachelors degree is in History and English and my masters degree is in general and special education. 

I am the mother of a three year old girl. I am a lover of all things Disney and am a kid at heart.
