In this one-time course, I will model and walk through the steps to making a beautiful hammered flower piece. Students will learn about natural pigments and how flowers can be pressed onto paper to make art out of nature! This is a simple class that always leads to beautiful pieces of artwork. Learners will also be able to use this skill to make additional pieces of art later on in the future. Please note, younger students may need additional help when it comes to constructing their masterpieces.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
A hammer, or something that can act like a hammer, will be needed for this class. Young learners may have trouble completing this step by themselves or may need supervision so they do not hurt themselves. If your learner is able to handle a hammer (rubber ones are great) then they can handle this class on their own!
Supply List
A piece of thick paper (cardstock is great), 2-5 different flowers (pick them from outside for a nature adventure!), was or parchment paper, and a hammer or something like a hammer (rubber mallet, heavy cup, rolling pin, etc.). Your learner can use additional materials to enhance their project, such as a fine point pen to outline their flowers, or paint to paint the background. These are optional and required!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
