Class Experience

Sensory Meditation is a one-of-kind meditation experience, where we explore our sense of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.

We will begin class by learning calming breathing techniques, using your smell-good item of choice (ex: essential oil, scented lotion, fragrant fruit...etc. See supply list recommendations) as we relax, and breathe.

As we breathe, we'll explore how our sense of smell and taste are connected, using guided meditation which is led by me, and accompanied by a beautiful steel drum, which I play live in all of my meditation classes.

The guided meditation will continue for the rest of class, as we go through all of our senses, one by one.

Parental Guidance
When choosing the scented item for the "smell" component of this class, I recommend using something the student is already familiar with. I would NOT recommend going out and buying an essential oil or scented product the student has never used before, to avoid any unwanted allergy/asthma response. As stated in the supply list, alternatives to essential oils could be: -fragrant fruit (like citrus) -soap -shampoo -scented lotion ...or any other item from your home that your student thinks smells good, and has on hand.
Supply List
This class will use objects from around your home, to tap into the 5 senses. I will provide the "something you can hear" element, the "something you can see" element, and the "something you can taste" element through a guided visual meditation.

Students should come to class with:

-something they can FEEL/TOUCH (a soft blanket, a stuffed animal, a soft shirt...anything soft, fuzzy, or comforting)
-something they can SMELL (I like to use essential oils, but students can bring ANYTHING that smells good to class. A fragrant fruit, scented lotion, shampoo...anything they can hold under their nose and smell)
