Welcome to the Semester Long Book Club for ages 12 - 14! In this book club, we will meet every other week for 12 weeks to discuss our books. We will read one book every two weeks, and students will need to be ready to discuss a different book each time we meet. Our fall book list is: Meeting 1 - The Loop by Ben Oliver Meeting 2 - Freedom Swimmer by Wai Chim Meeting 3 - The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman Meeting 4 - Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor Meeting 5 - The Red Palace...
Students will gain experience discussing with peers and gain confidence doing so. Students will gain a deeper knowledge of books.
I have been running book clubs in person and online for over 10 years. I have experience working with students ages 8 and up and approach all topics in an age-appropriate way. If students need to be redirected, I will do that. I always listen to students and their opinions making them feel heard and appreciated for their thoughts.
Students should read each book before we meet to discuss them.
