In this multi-day class, we will be creating two drawings, a realistic self-portrait and a self-portrait of our superhero alter ego. During the first lesson, we will be focusing on observational drawings as we create our self-portraits, learning all about common facial ratios. During the second day of class, we will transition into a different, more imaginative form of self-portrait drawings, as we create our superhero alter egos. We will get to stretch our imaginations as we create our suits, capes, super powers, and more. On the third and final day, we will finish up our drawings and then focus all on the art of oral story telling. We will learn how to compose descriptions of ourselves and our superhero selfs and then we will share with class. I don't expect the students to have any prior knowledge, but I do expect them to come with an open mind and be ready to learn!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their self-portrait drawing skills as well as expand their knowledge of oral story telling.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi!
My name is Tatiana and I will be teaching classes mainly focused on art and the environment. I believe when we open our minds and learn to fully express our creativity, we can achieve anything. Art allows for the mind to wander freely and when we learn to embrace the chase of our imagination, we can create some awesome pieces. Although my classes are fun and art-filled, we will still be learning lots of transferable skills and new information from the art as well as the mini-lesson after.
Let's get creating!
