Learn specific strategies to paraphrase like a pro.Week 4Lesson 4Quote the ExpertsLearn how to use quotations from sources to strengthen your argument and add to your credibility. In this lesson you will learn to choose, use, cite, and explain quotes effectively.Week 5Lesson 5Avoid Unintentional PlagiarismLearn to avoid the danger of unintentionally plagiarizing. Learners will dive deep into the components of a well-developed, well-supported essay. In this advanced class, we will be going beyond the basics of paragraphing, topic sentences, and evidence. We will focus on how to use well chosen evidence to add to the writer's credibility and persuasiveness. Learners will gain foundation skills that will help them in college.
I have 25 years of teaching experience--18 of which were teaching college English. The other years were spent with various (K-12) age groups.
Homework Offered
Learners will begin working toward their final project from the first class session. In addition, one simple exercise will be given each week in order to solidify the lesson.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Detailed feedback will be given on the final essay. I will also offer suggestions on homework throughout the course.Grades Offered
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
