Welcome to SRS Music & STEAM! Our mission is to bring the wonder of music to your learners. Our curriculum focuses on developing a joy for music and enjoyment of your instrument. We also share connections between music and STEAM concepts including computer science, design thinking, math, and more!

Curriculum is individualized and learner-driven. This means that we work with parents and learners to select music genres and skills that will keep our students interested and help them meet their goals. We hope to foster lifelong learning and enjoyment of playing your instrument.

We offer 1:1 private instruction for beginning-advanced violin, fiddle, viola, cello, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and piano students. For beginners, we focus on developing good posture, playing technique, and tone. Listening and playing by ear is as important as learning to sight read. Over time, we introduce music theory and reading at the learner's pace. This comes from a combination of classical techniques and fiddle tunes. Our advanced learners enjoy setting their own playing and practice goals, building repertoire, and developing advanced playing techniques.

Music is a social activity too! We offer group classes for beginners through advancing players and themed classes for music appreciation, fiddle, or seasonal tunes. We also offer classes that incorporate music and science or coding concepts. Our group classes are 6 or fewer learners at a time. This gives everyone plenty of teacher attention and a chance to interact. Our learners love building a community of like-minded musicians.
