Week 1Lesson 1Kawaii Cuteness Christmas Characters Part 1Through the guided drawing process, students will learn how to use simple lines and shapes to create popular Christmas characters in Kawaii style (Japanese origin; the term means "cuteness") The five characters we will concentrate on in this class are:a stocking, Santa, an elf, a reindeer, and a candy cane. Be sure to enroll your child in part 2 for five different characters as well!
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need: Paper (drawing paper is great; sketchbook, or even printer paper will work! Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener Black Sharpie Choice of coloring tools: colored pencils, crayons, watercolor pencils, or markers.
