Lesson 1
Introduction to Drawing in One Point Perspective
In this introductory class, students will learn how to draw six boxes "in perspective." We will demystify the concept of one point perspective by applying appropriate vocabulary and breaking down the process of using vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines, directional lines, a vanishing point, and color to create a drawing that looks three dimensional.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need:
Paper (drawing paper is great; sketchbook, or even printer paper will work!
Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener
Ruler
Black Sharpie
Choice of coloring tools: colored pencils, crayons, watercolor pencils, or markers.
