 Week 1
Lesson 1
Introductions & Greetings in Spanish
Let's Get to Know One Another in Spanish! Students will learn new vocabulary and complete a worksheet that will help introduce themselves to others. They will learn how to say things like "My name is____", "I am ___ years old", "I am (fine/feeling bad)" in Spanish.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Emotions in Spanish
Students will expand their vocabulary so they can describe when they are feeling happy (feliz), sad (triste), tired (cansado/cansada), and angry (enojado/enojada) using full sentences. Students will do drawing activities and play charades to practice.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Pets in Spanish
Students will practice counting and learn new vocabulary to identify different pets that can be kept in the home through stories, coloring and games. Students will learn words like mascotas (pets), dog (el perro), cat (el gato), fish (el pez), bird (el pájaro), and numbers 1-5.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Farm Animals in Spanish
Students will learn new vocabulary as they go on an adventure to help bring the escaped farm animals back to the farm! Students will learn new words like las vacas (cows), las gallinas (chickens), los gallos (roosters), los caballos (horses) and las ovejas (sheep). They will complete a maze activity and coloring sheet to practice.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Zoo Animals in Spanish
Students will go on an imaginary trip to the zoo and talk about the animals they can see. Students will also practice counting 1-10 and learn the vocabulary un león (lion), un mono (monkey), un elefante (elephant), and el tigre (tiger). Students will practice what they learn through a board game and coloring sheet.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Actions in Spanish
Students will learn a song and practice identifying several actions that they can do through a dice game! They'll practice the sentences and words yo salto (I jump), yo camino (I walk), yo corro (I run), rápido (fast), and lento (slow).
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Body Parts in Spanish
Students will learn how to identify different body parts in Spanish like la cabeza (head), los ojos (eyes), la nariz (nose), la boca (mouth), las manos (hands), las orejas (ears), los brazos (arms). Students will practice counting and identifying body parts while playing a game.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Colors in Spanish (pt.1)
Students will learn a variety of colors and complete a color by number activity to practice what they learn. Colors learned this week will be azul (blue), amarillo (yellow), verde (green), rosado (pink), y rojo (red).
 Week 9
Lesson 9
Colors in Spanish (pt.2)
Students will learn more colors this week and go on a scavenger hunt to find items that are these colors in their homes! Colors practiced this week will be gris (grey), morado (purple), marrón (brown), y anaranjado (orange).
 Week 10
Lesson 10
The Weather in Spanish
Students will practice describing the weather and can share a video and picture that shows the weather where they live. They will learn sentence frames like hace frio (cold), hace calor (hot), hace buen/mal tiempo (good/bad weather).
 Week 11
Lesson 11
Fruit in Spanish
Students will go on a pretend picnic and talk about the fruit they want to eat. Manzana (apple), fresa (strawberry), naranja (orange), platano (plantain/banana) ~ Yo Quiero (I want).
 Week 12
Lesson 12
Food in Spanish
Students will learn a variety of food vocabulary and talk about what they want as they pretend to create a meal. Sentence frames and vocabulary this week include "yo quiero...I want, huevos (eggs), fruta (fruit), pan (bread), la hamburguesa (hamburger), helado (ice cream).

Weekly Themes and learning goals!

🌟Week 1- Let's get to know one another in Spanish!

🌟Week 4- Animales de la granja (farm animals) ~ Las Vacas (Cows), Las Gallinas (Chickens), Los Gallos (Roosters), Los Caballos (Horses), Las Ovejas (Sheep). Students will learn new vocabulary as they go on an adventure to help bring the escaped farm animals back to the farm!

🌟Week 7-Body Parts- Students will learn how to identify different body parts: Cabeza (head), Ojos (eyes), Nariz (nose), Boca (mouth), Manos (hands), orejas (ears). 

🌟Week 8- Colores (colors)- azul (blue), amarillo (yellow), verde (green), rosado (pink), y rojo (red). Students will learn a variety of colors and complete a color by number activity to practice what they learn.

Homework Offered
Each week after watching the video(s) and completing the worksheet(s) students are encouraged to take a picture of their work and post it in the classroom. Students are also highly encouraged to record a video of them repeating the vocabulary words and phrases from the week or presenting their worksheet(s). These student videos can be posted publicly in the classroom or sent in a private message to the teacher so that they can provide feedback and guidance on pronunciation as needed.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The teacher will watch student videos and provide feedback. The teacher will also review images of student worksheets and offer encouraging comments and guidance as needed.
Grades Offered
Worksheets will be posted in the classroom portal at the beginning of each week. Please have the worksheets printed and available for your student so that they can begin to work on the activities during or after they watch the class videos. Any additional supplies will be noted in a classroom post or message. Student's should come prepared to speak Spanish and have fun!
