Hola! 🌟 Who is this class for? 1) This class is designed for beginner Spanish students who want to learn in a flexible way through videos instead of live meetings. 2) Students with little to no previous exposure to the Spanish language are welcome! 3) Students who want to learn Spanish and have fun! 4) Families with busy schedules! Students can learn at their own pace. Watch the videos and complete the activities when you have time during the week. This course does not have any live meetings. ********* 🌟Each week families receive the following... 1) 1-2 videos introducing the weekly theme and introducing activities. *Video lengths vary from 5-25 minutes long. 2) 1-3 Worksheets or coloring pages that reinforce what was learned in the video. 3) A set of printable flashcards to reinforce new vocabulary and phrases. 4) A parental guide for adults that are supporting their children during class. This guide will include the English translations of new vocabulary and phrases so that you can easily support your child even if you do not speak Spanish! 5) This course can be completed throughout a 6 week period. ********* 🌟 Teacher & Student interaction: Each week after watching the video(s) and completing the worksheet(s) students are encouraged to take a picture of their work and post it in the classroom. There will be some English used to clarify language concepts. The guidance sheet for adults will have English translations so that families can easily support their children during class. ********* Course Outline: 🌟Week 1- Let's get to know one another in Spanish! Introductions & greetings- "My name is____", "I am ___ years old", "I am (fine/feeling bad)". Students will learn new vocabulary and create a worksheet that will help introduce themselves to the class. 🌟Week 2- Emotions in Spanish. Students will expand their vocabulary so they can describe when they are feeling happy (feliz), sad (triste), tired (cansado/cansada), and angry (enojado/enojada) using full sentences. 🌟Week 3- Mascotas (Pets)- Dog (el perro), Cat (el gato), Fish (el pez), Bird (el pájaro), Numbers 1-5. Students will practice counting and learn new vocabulary to identify different pets that can be kept in the home. 🌟Week 4- Animales de la granja (farm animals) ~ Las Vacas (Cows), Las Gallinas (Chickens), Los Gallos (Roosters), Los Caballos (Horses), Las Ovejas (Sheep). Students will learn new vocabulary as they go on an adventure to help bring the escaped farm animals back to the farm! 🌟Week 5- Animales del zoológico (Zoo animals) ~ Un león (Lion), Un Mono (Monkey), Un Elefante (Elephant), El Tigre (Tiger). Students will go on an imaginary trip to the zoo and talk about the animals they can see. Students will also practice counting 1-10. 🌟Week 6- Acciones (actions) in the first person (yo-I). Verbs- Correr (to run), Saltar (to jump), Caminar (to walk). Rápido (fast), Lento (slow). Students will learn a song and be able to identify several actions that they can do! 🌟Week 7-Body Parts- Students will learn how to identify different body parts: Cabeza (head), Ojos (eyes), Nariz (nose), Boca (mouth), Manos (hands), orejas (ears). 🌟Week 8- Colores (colors)- azul (blue), amarillo (yellow), verde (green), rosado (pink), y rojo (red). Students will learn a variety of colors and complete a color by number activity to practice what they learn. 🌟Week 9-Colores (colors pt. 2) gris (grey), morado (purple), marrón (brown), anaranjado (orange). Students will learn colors and go on a scavenger hunt to find items that are these colors in their homes! 🌟Week 10-El Clima (weather)- Hace frio (cold), hace calor (hot), hace buen/mal tiempo (good/bad weather). Students will practice describing the weather and can share a video and picture with their classmates that shows the weather where they live. 🌟Week 11- Fruta (fruit)- Students will go on a pretend picnic and talk about the fruit they want to eat. Manzana (apple), fresa (strawberry), naranja (orange), platano (plantain/banana) ~ Yo Quiero (I want). 🌟Week 12- Food (comida)- Students will learn a variety of food vocabulary and talk about what they want and don't want as we pretend to create a meal together. Sentence frames "yo quiero...I want. Vocabulary: huevos (eggs), fruta (fruit), pan (bread), hamburguesa (hamburger), helado (ice cream).

Let's Get to Know One Another in Spanish! Students will learn new vocabulary and complete a worksheet that will help introduce themselves to others. They will learn how to say things like "My name is____", "I am ___ years old", "I am (fine/feeling bad)" in Spanish.
Lesson 2:
Emotions in Spanish
Students will expand their vocabulary so they can describe when they are feeling happy (feliz), sad (triste), tired (cansado/cansada), and angry (enojado/enojada) using full sentences. Students will do drawing activities and play charades to practice.
Lesson 3:
Pets in Spanish
Students will practice counting and learn new vocabulary to identify different pets that can be kept in the home through stories, coloring and games. Students will learn words like mascotas (pets), dog (el perro), cat (el gato), fish (el pez), bird (el pájaro), and numbers 1-5.
Lesson 4:
Farm Animals in Spanish
Students will learn new vocabulary as they go on an adventure to help bring the escaped farm animals back to the farm! Students will learn new words like las vacas (cows), las gallinas (chickens), los gallos (roosters), los caballos (horses) and las ovejas (sheep). They will complete a maze activity and coloring sheet to practice.

Worksheets will be posted in the classroom portal at the beginning of each week. Please have the worksheets printed and available for your student so that they can begin to work on the activities during or after they watch the class videos. Any additional supplies will be noted in a classroom post or message. Student's should come prepared to speak Spanish and have fun!
