In this 5 session class, learners will draw a different beautiful bird each week: a peacock, a flamingo, a toucan, a hummingbird, and a cardinal.

**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via embedded videos. Students will upload images of their assignments for the teacher to see and comment on. This is particularly important if a final grade is required for homeschool or charter school credit. Week 1Lesson 1HummingbirdsWe will examine the shapes and colors of hummingbirds, practice those shapes, and draw a hummingbird, finishing it up with black Sharpies, colored pencils, and if the student chooses, watercolor paint.Week 2Lesson 2PeacocksWe will examine the shapes and colors of peacock tail feathers, practice those shapes, and draw a peacock. We will finish it using black Sharpies, colored pencils, and watercolor paint (optional).Week 3Lesson 3ToucansWe will examine the shapes and colors of beaks, bodies and feathers, practice those shapes, and draw a toucan. We will finish it using black Sharpies, colored pencils, and markers (optional).Week 4Lesson 4FlamingosWe will examine the shapes of a flamingo's beak, body tail and legs, practice those shapes, and draw a flamingo. We will finish it using black Sharpies, colored pencils, and markers (optional).Week 5Lesson 5CardinalsWe will examine the shapes and colors of cardinals, practice those shapes, and draw a cardinal, finishing it up with black Sharpies, colored pencils, and if the student chooses for the background, watercolor paint.
Homework Offered
Not required, but students are welcome and encouraged to work on assignments and practice further between class sessions.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will take place during class in the form of teacher observation and possible suggestions (as requested by students).Grades Offered
Certificates of Completion will be offered upon parent completion of class feedback. Letter or Number grades will be offered per parent request.
Paper for each class session (sturdy drawing paper and/or watercolor paper is encouraged) pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener black Sharpie tools for adding color--student choice: crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolor paint (teacher will mostly be using colored pencils but might also use Crayola markers
