What's included

Homework
2-4 hours per week. Every week, learners will create a short audio or video of themselves (they can use the "add video" button in the classroom) saying the week's "chant" and share it with other learners. They will also complete other activities throughout the course on the discussion board. Finally, they will complete a project about the seasons using full sentences during the last week of the course.
Assessment
I will watch each learner's videos and write encouraging comments. I will also assist with creating the Spanish sentences needed to complete the final project.

Class Experience

In this flex class, your learner will learn about seasons, weather, and noun-article agreement in Spanish through videos, speaking practice, and a student project! They will get to practice vocabulary words, several full sentence structures, and questions.

NOTE: This class has NO live meetings and follows a "flexible schedule format", allowing learners to work at any time during each designated week and for the duration of the course. I can always be reached through the Outschool classroom and through messaging on Outschool throughout the course.

They will learn the following content in Spanish:

WEEK 1: it's spring, What's the weather?, the weather's nice, it rains
- a sentence with colors and an “el” noun
- several additional nouns with the article 'el'
WEEK 2: It's summer, it's hot, it’s sunny, the weather is bad
- a sentence with colors and a “la” noun
- several additional nouns with the article 'la'
WEEK 3: It's fall, it's cool, it's windy, it’s cloudy
- a sentence with colors and a “los” noun
- several additional nouns with the article 'los'
WEEK 4: It's winter, it's cold, it snows
- a sentence with colors and a “las” noun
- several additional nouns with the article 'las'
WEEK 5: What season is it?, explicit explanation of article-noun agreement, and student project

SPANISH EXPERIENCE: This flex class is best suited for learners with some Spanish experience and students should already know some colors in Spanish. They should also be able to recognize letters as in the last week, we will be comparing the articles 'el', 'la', 'los', and 'las'. As the content is standardized, please message me if you are unsure if this class is best suited for your learner’s level.

Each week, you’ll receive:
1. 2-3 videos: an educational video teaching the content (with props and digital effects) that allows students to repeat and one of me singing the week's song.
2. Printable flashcards: the flashcards can be used to help learners review and practice at home!
3. 2 Worksheets: Learners can listen to the lesson video/song and practice repeating and singing while they complete the worksheets
4. A "cheat sheet" of all the week's content in a virtual "classroom"

Student interaction: Every week, learners will create a short audio or video of themselves saying or singing the week’s song (usually about 4 sentences long) and share it with other learners. Learners will be expected to watch the videos that classmates post and post a friendly comment on a fellow learner's video with parent assistance. I will also leave feedback on each video that is posted and assist with pronunciation as needed.

In addition, I will post different activities in the classroom page, such as posting photos, worksheets, and other prompts. Students will be able to submit their content and respond to each other for further student-to-student interaction!

NOTE: Class materials are not all full immersion and there will be some English used as needed. Almost all of the flashcards will be represented with pictures rather than direct translation, but the videos and classroom discussion will include some translation.
