Cooking up Music Around the World
What's included
4 live meetings
3 in-class hoursClass Experience
Come join us as we sing and chant, learn songs and rhymes from around the world, explore our voices as instruments, create instruments from items around our homes, create some kitchen cacophony as we play along with songs, engage in pretend play, have musical story time, practice active listening, and use expressive movement to learn about the concepts of high and low and short and long. The recipe for each class? We will begin with a consistent welcome song and end with a the same goodbye song every week. In between we'll gather up our ingredients and bake up some fun! Grown ups, I'm counting on you to let me know your favorite treats in the online classroom so your family traditions can be incorporated into the class! Week One (Week of Feb 3): To Market, To Market We'll take an imaginary trip to the grocery store to search high and low for all the supplies we need for baking. Week Two (Week of Feb 10): Into the Kitchen After cleaning up our kitchens, we'll put on our aprons and get ready to cook. We'll be reaching high and low for all the things we need. Week Three (Week of Feb 17): Baking Together Eggs and flour, sugar and spice-- there are so many ingredients needed for baking! We'll make long and short sounds as we cook. Week Four (Week of Feb 24): Sweet Treats to Share Someone is knocking at the door! It's time to share our cookies and other treats with friends. Would you like milk or tea with your cookies?
