I have been teaching online cooking classes to students of different ages and abilities for the last 3+ years.
Recipe card will be available upon completion of the class. Ingredients and Supplies needed for this class: Ingredients: For the berry filling: -2 pounds mixed berries fresh or frozen -1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice -3/4 cup granulated sugar -1/2 cup all-purpose flour -1 tablespoon cornstarch For the topping: -1 box yellow cake mix -1/2 cup butter melted (1 stick) Supplies: -9 x 13 in pan -Bowls: small and large -Mixer: hand or stand (I always complete recipes without electric mixers to show it done by hand) -Spoon -Nonstick cooking spray or butter to prepare pan Optional: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to accompany the cobbler once it's finished
Recipe is fairly simple and kid-friendly, but some parental guidance may still be necessary, and more for younger students. Parents should always provide supervision and guidance when an appliance or certain kitchen utensils are used. **Please note that this recipe does use the oven.** It is also recommended that a clean, easily reachable workstation be set up for your learner, whether at a table or counter space.
