Seaside Lighthouse Drawing

During this single session, 1 hour class, students will create a beautiful lighthouse drawing inspired by the artist Edward Hopper.

Class Experience

Students will learn to use simple geometric shapes to draw a lighthouse. They will also learn how to add the illusion of light and shadow through blending techniques using color pencils. This is a great class for students new to drawing and interested in realism. The Instructor will suggest tips for creating the look of an early morning sky using color pencils. Emphasis will be place on the drawing portion of the class. Students may need to spend additional time outside of class to finish the coloring of the drawing.

Hello there! I have been an artist and art teacher for over 30 years. I teach parent & child, elementary, teen and adult art classes and programs using a wide range of materials and techniques. I have a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in fine arts and enjoy painting, drawing and mixed media like mosaics and clay. I offer guided drawings, step by step lessons and encourage creative curiosity.
