Hi there! My name is Christi, or Noodle (that's my gamer tag), and you'll soon learn that I love to make cute things with cute faces! In this on-going kawaii themed sculpting club, we will sculpt a new adorable creation together each week. We'll chat about all kinds of topics while we are also learning lots of tips and techniques on how to sculpt with clay. We'll learn how to sculpt with either our hands, with tools, or with household items. Want to know hot to use smaller simple shapes to make a larger more complex sculpt? I got you. Want to take it easy and make a really cute but really fun and easy sculpt? I got that too! This class is definitely a club, where you will learn, but also will have the freedom to make all of your own choices and flex your creativity. Having fun and feeling free while creating is the number one goal of this club! I can't wait to meet you and sculpt with you! I will be primarily using polymer clay to sculpt. If you have a different sculpting medium you would like to use, that is cool too! We will talk about different mediums, the pros and cons of each, and how to change our techniques for different textures. Week of 6/25 - 7/1: Farm Buddies: Chickens Week of 7/2 - 7/8: Farm Buddies: Cows Week of 7/9 - 7/15: Under the Sea: Fish Week of 7/16 - 7/22: Under the Sea: Mermaids or treasure chests Week of 7/23 - 7/29: No Class This Week

Parental Guidance
Baking POLYMER CLAY sculptures is not required. If sculptures are not baked, the clay will stay soft and can be used again. Baking sculpts will make them permanently hard and durable. Learners that would like to bake their sculpts will require guardian supervision and assistance using an oven. Instructions for baking are included on the wrapper or box of POLYMER CLAY and each brand of clay may have slightly different instructions. In general, POLYMER CLAYs are baked at low temperatures (usually around 275 degrees, for 15 minutes per 1/4" thickness). Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions!
If you are using a clay other than POLYMER CLAY please be sure to read the instructions as to if it is a clay that is air dry, bake, or neither. I will be happy to help you if you need it.
Polymer clay CAN be, but isn't always quite firm before it is worked. Some learners may need help softening their clay because it can be challenging for small hands to smush and mush it until it is soft. This only requires a few minutes with strong hands. Thanks parents and guardians for lending your muscles to get the art going!
Supply List
Sculpting Medium: Either polymer clay, air dry clay, model magic, play-dough, or other. I will primarily be using Polymer Clay to sculpt and to get similar results to me, polymer clay is recommended, but not required. Learners are welcome to use other sculpting mediums as long as they know that results may vary. We will work with other mediums together and talk about how to get the best results with each! The main goal is to have fun and finish a cute creation in any medium!
