Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Using the ScratchJr app on an iPad, young learners ages 5-9 will have so much fun learning to code while making an animation that can move, rotate, flip, grow, shrink, disappear, reappear, and more. Scratch is a block based computer programming tool designed by MIT, but Scratch Jr was later made for younger students who may be pre-readers. Here is a breakdown of what to expect each week: Week 1: In our first class, we will find the app, start a project and choose, create and design a character Week 2: In our second class, we will make the character(s) move and change size. We will also learn how we can record our voices and insert those audio clips into the project Week 3: In our third class, we will learn to use the wait and repeat blocks Week 4: In our final class, we will choose, create and design different scenes and learn how to change from one scene to the next. Each week, I will post a video tutorial for learners to follow and complete. Come join the fun with me as we have fun making animations!
