Class Experience

Beginner Level
In this lively, 3-day class, students will dive into the world of Scratch coding by building a Thanksgiving-themed game! Together, we’ll design a playful turkey who dodges obstacles or collects treats, all while exploring fundamental coding concepts such as movement, loops, conditionals, and variables. This course is designed for early coders, offering a supportive, step-by-step approach to building skills.

Each day, we’ll introduce a new concept, giving students the chance to add features to their game. On Day 1, students create and animate their turkey. Day 2 brings new obstacles to avoid, and on Day 3, we add treats and a scoring system for a fun, complete game!

Class time is interactive, with plenty of time for questions, feedback, and hands-on coding. My teaching style is encouraging and engaging, with an emphasis on creativity and exploration. Learners will be able to interact with me directly, ask questions as we go, and show off their work to receive feedback. By the end, students will have a full game to play and share with family and friends!
