In this 4-week course, students will be introduced to the common code blocks in Scratch. They will learn a variety of computational concepts that will help them develop as logical and creative thinkers. They will learn about movement, sprites, communication, and storytelling to create interactive stories and animations. 1 file available upon enrollmentAn internet connection and laptop or desktop computer are required to complete the projects. Students will be given a link at the beginning of the first class to walk through setting up their free Scratch account. As you walk through the setup, if the student is not familiar with how to navigate around a browser such as Chrome or Internet Explorer, it is suggested that a parent assist if needed.
No live meetings, and no time outside of class.
An internet connection and laptop or desktop computer are required to complete the projects. Students will be given instructions on how to set up their free Scratch account in the sign up document. This document is listed in the "Welcome" post. Please walk through the setup with your child to help them get their accounts set up before the first class.
