In this 8-week course, coders will have fun developing their own multi-level platformer game. They will create a Ninja Platformer game while challenging each other and themselves through friendly competition.

In this 8-week course, students will have fun applying their Scratch coding skills and will learn new coding skills to create a platformer game. They will create a Ninja Platformer game. This class will use intermediate to advanced coding skills.
We will cover:

Class Requirements:
1) Students should use a laptop or desktop computer with a keyboard. No iPads or tablets
2) Students will need to have a Scratch account. If this is your first time taking class with me, the student will be given a username and password. Please use the login credentials to get set up in the classroom by following the sign in document uploaded in the classroom prior to our first class.
3) Students should be familiar with using 2 browser windows (i.e Chrome, Internet Explorer) open on their laptop or desktop computer. One is for Zoom and the other one for Scratch so that they can interactive and share their programs in the class.Other Details

Hi! My name is Juanita Dailey. I am super excited to now be an Outschool teacher!!! The types of classes I am looking to teach will revolve around technology such as programming, creating videos, and Zumba fitness classes.
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Information Management with a concentration in Systems Programming. I also have an MBA with a concentration in Project Management. I have a teaching certificate in ESL and also have various Zumba fitness certifications.
I have over 15 years of teaching experience at the university level and with kids ranging in ages 4 - 12 years old. I also have over 15 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer and Web Designer. I've taught programming classes, ESL and Zumba Fitness.
I love the tech side of things, playing around with creating videos and fitness! My teaching philosophy is that learning should be fun. When learning is fun, this makes it easier for the student to learn and to cultivate a love of learning. I can't wait to be apart of your child's learning experience to help them develop their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. We're going to have a blast!
Something fun about me is that I love adventure so sometimes you may find me out paragliding or white water rafting for outdoor activities. Indoors, I enjoy playing my arcade games such as Ms. Pacman and putting my ball on our indoor putting green.
