Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will be introduced to Scratch and learn the foundations. This allows them to confidently move onto more complex code and continue their coding journey. The camp is also intended to encourage students to get excited about the possibilities of coding and computer science!
I’ve been a professional developer for nearly a decade. In the past I've worked for Dell, Apple, Best Buy, and the Government of New Zealand. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been teaching and mentoring aspiring junior developers.
You can create a free account on https://scratch.mit.edu/join. Your student will need a Windows PC, Apple Mac, or Chromebook to complete this class. Unfortunately, Scratch does not work well on iPads at this time.

******** Students will need to be comfortable typing and use a mouse/track pad with their device. ********
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
******** Students will need to be very comfortable typing and use a mouse/track pad with their device. ********
