***********Supplies are listed in the supply list************* Atoms are everywhere! In this one time class, we will learn about atomic structure: the nucleus, protons, neutrons, electrons, and the electron cloud. The kids will be introduced to the periodic table as well. The kids will be engaged through a slideshow, video clips, and a hands on project. We will build an atomic model of an element from the periodic table using your choice of either clay or edible items such as gummy bears, gum drops, or small colored marshmallows. We will end class by sharing our models with each other.

Students will learn the basics of atomic structure.

Supply List
Choice of: Clay, playdough, gummy bears, gum drops, or colored marshmallows. Fruit such as berries and grape work well too. Cereal such as Cheerios, etc work well Skittles or M & Ms. Print out of periodic table that is available for download once you are enrolled.
