In this one-time class, learners will join Sydney the Science Squid and Teacher Jolene for a read-aloud of Monkeys by Anne Schreiber. Teacher Jolene will help lead through this non-fiction book about monkeys with discussion, a circle (schema) and tree map (can; have; are), a direct draw, and simple writing. Learners will be asked to share their direct drawing and writing with Teacher Jolene. Class will conclude by singing a monkey song and/or chant and enjoying a favorite snack (provided by learner’s family).
Learning Goals
Learners will help create a circle & tree map about monkeys; construct a direct draw of a monkey; complete a simple writing about monkeys; participate in discussions; and enjoy a favorite snack while singing a few monkey songs!
