1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This hands-on science class will help reinforce scientific concepts and themes by uncovering a mystery, completing an experiment at home during class, and using the scientific method to draw conclusions.........ultimately helping to solve the mystery! Using a simple list of items from home, the learner will be able to explain the concepts in detail as they use real-world experiments to crack the case. There is no experience or prior knowledge needed to join in this fun, interactive class. One week prior to each class, the parent will be emailed the information for that week's lesson, including items needed for the hands-on portion of the class. This is an ongoing class and weekly lessons do not build upon one another. They are independent concepts so learners may join this class at any time. Below is an example of the first 4 weeks of lessons. Week of March 14: Structure and properties of matter Week of March 21: Chemical reactions Week of March 28: Forces and motion Week of April 4: Human impact on the earth
Learning Goals
Learners will plan and carry out investigations to determine answers to scientific questions. They will use the scientific method to make observations and draw conclusions. Additional science standards will be met based on that week's lesson.

Supply List
An email will be provided a week in advance with the supplies needed for the upcoming class. If a learner enrolls less than week before the class, a message will sent the same day with the items needed for class. Most of the items should be readily available at home. For each lesson, the learner will need a notebook and pencil to record their observations. This Science Notebook will be used for the duration of the class.
