Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
I would love to help your children with concepts they may be struggling with, or create lessons that facilitate understanding and enjoyment. This class would be customized just for them!
My teaching style favors hands-on learning, using models whenever possible, and maintaining organized notes and/or vocabulary but I am accustomed to working with a wide range of learning styles. I believe every child has unique strengths and struggles. My purpose is to help your children build interest and confidence.
Please reach out to me with any questions, so that we may ensure the lessons are perfect for their needs. I look forward to meeting your learners and promise to produce many smiles as I pride myself on being patient and easy-going.

Enrollment begins with a block of three sequential weeks, however more weeks may be added as we agree upon them. Price listed is based on a single learner but I am able to teach siblings through this class listing, as well. Please contact me to discuss your individual situation and your child's needs.

Please note: I specialize in ecology, zoology, biology, and life science. I can also incorporate math and creative writing upon request! A few examples of topics I can teach include:

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Virginia Teaching Certificate in Science
My teaching experience includes life science, biology, ecology, and zoology. I am also a mother of three and feel very comfortable providing support in other subjects, as needed. Before I became a teacher I worked with wildlife, in a microbiology lab, and also in animal welfare. I have always been called to work with children and have volunteered at girl scout camps, zoo camps and children's hospitals. As a teacher on Outschool, I am committed to bringing visual and tangible content to the classroom. I believe teaching is more than just a lecture. My students learn best by seeing examples of concepts, and by breaking new content down into manageable pieces. I am always available for questions and support!
