Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Intermediate - Advanced Level
Colors and symmetry exist throughout nature. Learners will go on a virtual walk to observe colors and symmetry in nature. Our walk begins with walking sound effects as we walk over a bridge with our (virtual) clipboards, observation sheets, hat, water bottle and binoculars. We will see many animals in the forest and observe their colors and characteristics as I share my screen to show the Google slides presentation I created. Learners will record their observations by drawing as they learn interesting information about them. We will also observe symmetry in nature and complete drawings to show their symmetry.

Some of the animals we will see are:
a pileated woodpecker, a monarch butterflies, banana slugs, a golden poison frog, a red fox, a scarlet tanager, accaria-amethystin mushrooms, an an all black ayam cemani rooster, and a black bear.

Materials:
Learners will be drawing throughout the class so please print the two-page observation and symmetry worksheets before class.
pencil or markers, crayons
