US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
This ongoing class will focus on teaching students how to 1. find scholarships they're eligible for 2. conduct research to know what the judges are looking for 3. organizing and planning to ensure there's enough time to gather materials and meet the submission deadline 4. complete all requirements and submit an application that makes them stand out amongst applicants Students can enroll and unenroll at any point as their schedule permits. This class will be most beneficial to students who have some knowledge of college, how many years it takes to complete and how expensive it may be, but that is not required. For those who would like to learn more about college before looking for scholarships, I'd suggest they take my "Everything You Need to Know and Do To Pick The Right Major" class. In addition to the above, we'll discuss the difference between grants, loans, and scholarships and go over the pros and cons of each. We'll look at websites and organizations that list scholarships the students can apply for now, they'll learn how to determine their eligibility and we'll discuss the essays they'll need to write for their applications. Most classes will consist of students searching through scholarships and checking their eligibility, and working on their applications. I'll assist them with every step and check their progress to ensure they're prepared to submit their application and hopefully get awarded some money!
