Scholarship Application Bootcamp #1: Florida Students

In this 30 minute scholarship bootcamp, students will be able to understand how to submit a scholarship application and how to increase their chances of being awarded.

Beginner Level
By attending the Scholarship Application Bootcamp, Students will achieve the following learning goals:

1. Understand the importance of Local Scholarships:  Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the significance of local scholarships and how they can provide financial support for their educational pursuits.

2. Identify Relevant Local Scholarships: Students will learn how to research and identify local scholarships that are available to students residing in Florida, enabling them to find opportunities that align with thier interests, achievements and goals.

3. Master the Scholarship Application Process: Students will become proficient in completing Scholarship applications, gaining insights into the necessary components, such as personal statements, recommendation letters, and transcripts.  They will also learn how to present themselves effectively to increase their chances of being awarded.

4. Develop Effective Application Strategies:  Students will acquire strategies and techniques to enhance their scholarship applications, including tips for highlighting their achievements, showcasing their unique qualities, and crafting compelling narratives that resonates with scholarship committees.

5. Increase chances of scholarship success: Students will learn how to stand out from competition by understanding what scholarship committees are looking for and tailoring their applications to meet those expectations.  They will gain confidence in their ability to present themselves as deserving canididates for local scholarships.

6. Transferable Skills:  Students will develop transferable skills, such as effective communication, research, and organization, which can be applied not only to scholarship applications but also to other academic pursuits.

7. Gain Access to resources: Students will be provided with 2 local scholarships. Different scholarship opportunities will be highlighted and provided during each scholarship bootcamp. (Ex: Boot camp 1 will target a different scholarship opportunity from boot camp 2).

By achieving these learning goals, students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to navigate the world of local scholarships, increasing their chances of securing financial support for their educational journey.
