Class Experience

Bring some toys (any kind!) to this class with you, and get ready for a fun scavenger hunt! We will also use other items throughout the house.

For each round, I will choose a category from a big group of cards. The category could be anything that would describe an object. Examples include red, striped, fast, slow, old, noisy, quiet, soft, etc.

Your learner will then find an object that matches the category. Please feel free to give as much support as your learner needs. The learners will take turns sharing their founded objects with the class. They may explain why they chose that object to match the category.

We will play as many rounds as the time allows. Each week, the categories will likely vary, due to the random selection of the category cards. However, make sure your learner knows that any card could be picked at any time.

Students of all abilities are welcome in my classes. As a parent of an autistic child with other special needs, it is important to me that each child feels competent and confident. If your learner has special needs, please let me know how I can help him/her feel comfortable.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am so excited to have your child in class! Together, we will have fun while we explore many topics. I strive to help every learner feel welcome, safe, and accepted. If I can help in any way to make sure your learner is successful in my class, please contact me. As a mom to an amazing autistic daughter, I truly understand the need to feel completely safe and accepted.

I live in the midwest with my daughter and our five pets. There is never a dull moment in our home with a Shih-Tzu, Maltese-Shihtzu, three cats, and a hedgehog!

I look forward to seeing your child in my class soon!
