25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this fun class, I will use PowerPoint to announce an item. The students will have 2 minutes to find each item around your house. We will start each class by introducing ourselves and going over the guidelines for the scavenger hunt. The students will be instructed not to interfere with someone who is working or busy. Each day this class is offered will have a different scavenger hunt. If we have extra time, we will play Simon Says. Sometimes I will use phonetic clues (ex: rhymes with hall, but starts with b). Maybe I will ask for a book, spoon, or a stuffed animal.

Teacher expertise and credentials
New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi! I'm a certified educator hailing from New York with a Master's in Special Education and a Bachelor's in Childhood Education. With experience across all elementary grades, I currently nurture young minds in first grade. Transitioning to distance learning, I leveraged Zoom to teach reading, math, science, social studies, and conduct engaging class meetings from March to June. Despite missing face-to-face interactions, I fostered connections through inventive activities like pet/stuffed animal show and tell, phonics-based scavenger hunts, and guided drawing sessions, ensuring learning remained enjoyable.
I designed and executed an enriching year-long fairy tale curriculum, exploring multicultural and traditional tales from various perspectives, nurturing critical thinking among students. I thrive on building lasting relationships with my students and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you!
