I have been teaching math (as a classroom teacher and tutor) for 25+ years. As a person who struggled with math as a student, I can empathize with and relate to students as they try to learn new and difficult concepts. A lot of encouragement goes a long way.

I recommend getting the Solutions Manual (Saxon Algebra 1/2, 3rd Edition, Solutions Manual). It contains step-by-step solutions to every problem in the textbook. This is a great way for learners and parents to check answers and get a full understanding of how to solve each problem. The answers to the odd-numbered exercises are in the back of the textbook.
