Description

Class Experience

This is a weekly hand embroidery club for children to teach them the basics of hand embroidery. Students can join or leave this club at any time. 

Each week during our club time we will add a new stitch to our stitch library and practice the stitches that we learned the prior week. We will also work together on various projects together as a group.

The students will learn how to:
 - Correctly hoop their fabric
 - Use stencils or pre-made designs
 - Create their own designs on their fabric...

This class will help students tap into their creativity to embellish or upcycle things that they have at home like T-shirts, pillows, jackets, and blankets to name a few.

Students will need:

- A small to medium embroidery hoop
- Embroidery floss in a variety of colors
- Hand embroidery needles
- 1/2 yard of fabric to cut up and hoop that has a tightly woven weave such as cotton, linen, or a polyester blend
- Sequins and seed beads
- Frixon pens or disappearing ink fabric marking pens

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
