Class Experience

Students will learn about rounding up and down numbers to the nearest 10,100 and 1000 (depending how students go picking this up). 
The class will run starting with the basics of a number above 5 is rounded up, and below 5 is rounded down to the nearest 10, or 100. Students will be given the correct wording for if they encounter such in an upcoming test.
Students will be able too interact with me teaching using my whiteboard to model and explain. Students will then be able to complete questions in their own workbook and ask questions. 
Students do not need any prior knowledge.

Learning Goals

Students will be able to round numbers off to the nearest 10 or 100.

Hi there

My classes will be mainly maths and writing.  For maths I'm am big on number knowledge before applying strategy skills. We will be going over all the basics along with some fun lessons based on angels, percents, graphs etc... For writing I like to incorporate a simple art activity depending on the task and age followed by the specific activity focused on the aspects of using language features.

I have been teaching for 15 years in Auckland, New Zealand, I now live in Canterbury. I hold a bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland. I have worked with all year levels during my career.
 I also have teacher horse riding qualifications working among pony clubs. 

I throughly enjoy seeing kids reach their individual goals, seeing their ideas and creativity blossom. 

I live on a lifestyle block where I have a horse, Chinese silkie chickens, dexter cattle, dogs and a cat.
