Students will write an original narrative with a different emphasis each week: actions, thoughts, feelings, and use temporal words to signal event order. These topics will cycle around from week to week. Students can join this class at any time and not have missed anything.

July 14: actions
July 21: thoughts
July 28: feelings

I'll use Google Slides to present the emphasis for the week.
Young writers are expected to be familiar with the meaning of the words "problem and solution". We will spend a few minutes getting to know each other and then roll for our choices. Students will have at least eight minutes to write and then read their story to the class if they'd wish. Throughout the year, the Roll A Story selections will change with the month or season providing an endless supply of story options.
Learning Goals
CC.2.W.3	Write narratives in which they recount a well elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
