Intermediate Level
This class is part of a series. Level 1 is a prerequisite. No exceptions. You need to purchase a specific robot described below. Now that you know how to use a microbit, let add a robot car kit and start driving around! The Yahboom Tiny:bit Robot is an inexpensive robot that can sense obstacles and detect light so that we can create a robot that avoids obstacles and can follow a track. It also has lights, and sounds that we can control in our programs. If you have taken my other Level 2 robot class (Intro to Yahboom Sensor Robot Kit), this class allows your learner to have a robot that moves, and soon there will be Level 3 class that allows both robots to interact together over bluetooth radio.

over 4 WeeksLesson 1:
Build the TinyBit Robot
In this class we will build the TinyBit robot together and program it to drive 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Turns and Lights
We will learn and code the 2 methods of turning the robot while driving, and we will learn to code the lights on the robot. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Avoid the Obstacles
We will learn about the distance sensor and code the robot so that it turns away from obstacles. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Follow the Line
We will learn how to make the robot follow a black track using a line following algorithm 55 mins online live lesson

Your learner may need help putting together the robot, depending on dexterity and finger strength.
