Roblox is an online game platform that enables its players to design, build and share interactive 3D worlds. It provides a free, all-in-one development tool that allows students to build and share their games. In this introductory course, students will apply their creativity, problem-solving and computational skills to design, build and playtest their own obstacle (obby) game. They learn how to navigate Roblox Studio, add and edit parts, group models, manipulate constraints, add music, publish their game and more. **Please click on the "Learner Supply List" for the hardware and software requirements for this class. ** Daily Schedule: After the first 90 minutes of class, there will be a 15-minute break, followed by another 75 minutes of class. In this introductory course, students will apply their creativity, problem-solving and computational skills to design, build and playtest their own obstacle (obby) game. They learn how to navigate Roblox Studio, add and edit parts, group models, manipulate constraints, create some simple LUA scripts, add music, publish their game and more. **Please click on the "Learner Supply List" for the hardware and software requirements for this class. ** Daily Schedule: After the first 90 minutes of class, there will be a 15-minute break, followed by another 75 minutes of class. DAY1 • Introduction to Roblox Studio. Build 3D models in Roblox, using basic parts and tools such as move, scale, rotate and transform. • Build advanced 3D models using properties such as material, color, collisions, constraints and more. DAY2 • Design and build platforms in students' own obstacle course game in Roblox. • Create a spawn location for players to join the game. • Create platforms that use effects and different properties such as velocity, transparency and collision. DAY3 • Create and add traps and hazard blocks to the obstacle course. • Learn about constraints and how to apply them to creating a spinning hazard block. DAY4 • Use more constraints such as hinge, rope, and align orientation to create obstacles such as a swinging platform, spinning platforms and teeter totter obstacles. DAY5 • Create checkpoints for players to spawn. • Complete the obby course. • Add music to your game in the post production and learn how to publish the game so that it can be shared with friends. ** For a list of all the classes that we offer, please access this shortened url: shorturl.at/fkoDH
