Roblox Studio: Introduction to Coding

===August Update===
Hello Outschool Families! I'm running a very limited schedule for the month of August. I'll be on a family vacation and will then be preparing for a return to my Fourth Grade classroom, regardless of what that may look like come September! Once September is here, I'll be running classes on the weekends only. I'll also be opening sessions for flex-style classes. I hope everyone has a wonderful remainder of the summer and a successful start to the school year during these unprecedented times. Remember that children are resilient and they will succeed! 

==== Welcome! ====
Hello Outschool Families! My name is Shannon Venner. I have been a certified teacher in the state of New Jersey, USA for 11 wonderful years. I have taught in the same school since my career began! I have taught several different grade levels from Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade. I am currently a Fourth Grade teacher and I absolutely love the curriculum and rigor of upper elementary. 

==== Credentials ====
I have a Masters in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. My undergraduate certifications include Elementary Education K-6 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities from Rider University. I am also Highly Qualified in the state of New Jersey in Middle School Language Arts and Middle School Mathematics. 


==== Teaching Style ====
I have a lot of energy and passion in whatever I teach! I enjoy creating highly engaging content and lessons. I like my learners to be as active as possible and participate in classroom conversations.  I check-in with every learner individually at least once during class. I do expect students to respond either verbally or with a thumbs-up. I like when the students share their work with the rest of the class. I may be the teacher, but kids can learn a lot from one another as well! 

The Zoom chat feature and annotation feature will remain off for the duration of our time together. Students will automatically be placed on mute to help ensure the best sound quality for all learners. If students want to participate, share, or ask a question, they are free to take themselves off mute. 

I have a passion for teaching Reading, Writing, Phonics, and especially Technology! 

=== Personal Life ===
I have two beautiful daughters and a dog! We spend a lot of time outside going for trail walks and playing in our yard. Family is important to me so I try my best to create lots of experiences and memories for my girls.

Some fun facts about me:

-Technology in education has always been something that interests me
-Spending time outdoors is my JAM 
-The beach is my favorite place to be
-I enjoy reading books about all different topics
-Teaching at the same school for all 11 of my years in education has taught me the importance of a community
-$hopping is one of my favorite things to do
-I love white cheddar popcorn, Doritos, and ice cream!
